Watch the “Deep Dive” program on Ocean Acidification and Climate-Ocean Impacts, which occurred on June 4, 2020 as part of the World Economic Forum’s Virtual Ocean Dialogues 2020.
As part of our celebration of UN World Oceans Day, our virtual program co-hosted by Ocean Foundation and Peace Boat explores innovative and inclusive actions that are helping local communities, industry partners and governments find solutions for addressing impacts of ocean acidification.
Check out our new OA Alliance Handbook! Members of the OA Alliance are helping to promote and drive implementation of actions, including nature-based solutions, that address the causes of ocean acidification and increase biodiversity, adaptive capacity and resiliency of coastal communities.
The rapid spread of COVID-19 is posing unprecedented challenges and uncertainty to governments, civil society organizations and citizens around the world. Even as we face enormous challenges, governments and civil society are standing reading to continue progress, share success stories and compelling case studies for driving climate action and implementing ocean solutions in 2020 and beyond.
Presentations will explore the role of kelp and seagrass in helping to mitigate and build resilience to impacts of ocean acidification to some marine species and ecosystems. Presentations will focus on how governments might explore pilot projects that further examine this potential.
Listen to a full recording from the OA Alliance’s April 15, 2020 webinar featuring studies and research from around the world, looking at biological impacts to key seafood species.
Presentations include a focus on Dungeness crab in the Pacific, Northern Shrimp and lobster in the Northern Atlantic and the New Zealand Green-lipped Mussel.
The final COP25 decision, Chile Madrid Time for Action, opened up a dialogue on the ocean and climate change, a major step forward in elevating and integrating ocean across the UNFCCC.
