OA Action plans
In her role as the OA Action Plan Lead and international policy consultant, Dr. Annika Frosch assists OA Alliance member states with the creation of their Ocean Acidification Action plans and provides international policy insights on EU directives and Regional Seas Conventions.
Annika currently serves as a research fellow at the Shipping and Oceans Research Group of the Bartlett School of Environment, Energy, and Resources at UCL, where she follows the negotiations in relation to the decarbonization of the shipping industry at the International Maritime Organization.
Annika holds a PhD from the European University Institute, where her thesis focused on governance solutions to address the complex scientific realities of OA. Her doctoral studies were funded by the German Academic Exchange Service. Her research is distinctly interdisciplinary, combining insights from law, natural sciences, and political science. She has served as a visiting scholar at the Asia-Pacific Center for Environmental Law at the National University of Singapore, the UCL Energy Institute Shipping Research Group, and both the Center for Environmental Policy & Behavior and the Bodega Marine Laboratory at the University of California Davis. Annika also holds Master of Laws (LL.M.) degrees from the European University Institute and the University of Oslo, and a Maîtrise from Aix Marseille University.
